I’ve used Benjamin Moore paints my entire career. Maybe side-by-side, but even then I’m not sure. Can the average person tell the difference? Probably not. F&B is wonderful paint and is formulated differently from Benjamin Moore. However, please refrain from the speech about how much better Farrow and Ball paint is… I know that some of you feel passionately about this and I respect that. The color could go muddy, greenish or even more red.ĭoes this always happen with blue paint colors? And, that’s especially true if the sun is hitting it. Indigo is a blue that leans towards purple. But, you probably already know that.Ī misnomer that some make including me sometimes, is in regard to indigo. Blue colors that lean to the warm side are called cerulean, teal, turquoise and aqua. The rest of these blues are medium to medium-dark. Today, I’m including a couple of the darker blues, more for balance and one shade of blue. Because those were dark blues.Īnd then, we did a summer home post a few weeks ago. I didn’t show any rooms, but we got to hear some cool blues music. You might recall that in early April, I FINALLY did a post about some blue paint colors. Same deal happened with Housemarque, who made games like Super Stardust and Nex Machin, sales were so bad that they apparently are giving up on arcade titles. I mean, Sega does have the Megadrive classics thing, there is the Atari Vault, and there is also Pac-Man Museum, but aside from some people buying those i don't think those were very sucessful, hell, there is not even a Namco Museum on Steam!Īnd if you look at indie games that go for more niche arcade genres the sales aren't always the best, look at the developer DYA Games, who made the shmup/puzzle hybrid Super Star Path, the brick breaker Strikey Sisters and a challenging fast paced action game called Bot Vice, all three games look good and are pretty fun, and yet the developer reportadely states that it's dissapointed by the sales of their games and their next game will be one that appeals more to the common gamer just because they want to sell something. A typical example is the “ease-out” curve used in many modern animations and interfaces. It gives the motion a gradual transitions that look organic and fluid.īy slowing down the rate of acceleration over time, users will be provided with a seamless animation experience. It’s most commonly used to create a smooth, natural feel to the transition from one state to another.Įase out tools are often used in animation, motion graphics and interactive interfaces to make movement look natural, smooth and realistic. What is an ease out tool?Īn ease out tool is a design feature that allows designers to reduce the rate of change of an animation over time. However, this should only be done as a last resort, as it carries with it the risk of damaging the surrounding material. If these methods still do not work, then it may be time to resort to an acetylene torch, which should soften the metal of the screw and make it easier to remove. This will only work if the head of the screw is exposed, so if you have a sunken screw head, you will need to use an even wider drill bit to create a clearance hole, so that the head of the screw can be accessed with the screw extractor.Īdditionally, if the screw is stuck further down in the material, you may need to use a right-angle drill to gain access to it. This involves slowly and carefully drilling around the head of the screw and gradually increasing the size of the drill bit, so that eventually the top of the screw head will be drilled out. If a screw extractor does not work, the next best step is to try “drilling out” the screw. What happens if a screw extractor doesn’t work? In some cases, it may take a few tries or require gentle tapping or pushing to get the extractor to catch, but if done correctly, screw extractors should have no trouble extracting a stuck screw. To use, you usually start by drilling a hole in the center of the screw head, then using the extractor to grip the head and unscrew it. Screw extractors usually come in a variety of sizes to fit different kinds of screws, and the process of using them is usually quite straightforward. They typically work by gripping the screw head, allowing for easy extraction, even if the screw has been in place for a long time. They are tools specifically designed to remove screws that have become stuck or rusted over time. It’s important to take fail-safe measures to avoid any potential dangers like using eye protection and protective clothing when using a Speed Out Screw Extractor. Once the screw or bolt is extracted, remove the extractor carefully. Continue until the entire broken screw or bolt comes out.ħ. Turn the extractor counterclockwise and it should start removing the screw or bolt. Utilizing a ratchet or screwdriver, slowly turn clockwise, applying steady pressure until the extractor is snug.Ħ. Firmly insert the extractor bit over the broken screw or bolt.ĥ. Place the extractor bit over the broken screw or bolt and align the cutting end with the pilot hole.Ĥ. Start with a smaller bit and increase the size of the bit until it is the same size as the drill bit size mentioned on the package.ģ. Refer to the packaging to select the right size.Ģ. Choose the correct size extractor (sizes range from 5/64 to 1/2 inch). Using a Speed Out Screw Extractor is a fast and easy method for removing a broken screw or bolt. However, the falls are quite distant from here. When you visit the falls from the Fall Creek Falls parking lot and trailhead, there’s an immediate overlook. Because it juts out further than the platform, you can see more in all directions than you can from the platform.įall Creek Falls Overlook Close to the Fallsįor namesake, you cannot forget about Fall Creek Falls itself. I highly recommend this little climb down the eroded trail as the views from the roost are arguably better than the views from the platform. It’s a short, but somewhat steep, hike down to it. If you missed my last blog post about these, click HERE to read more about them.īuzzard’s Roost is the rock bluff that stretches out just below the Millikan’s Overlook platform. On the platform you’ll also find one of the color-blind view finders. The overlook can be found halfway down the Scenic Loop Road with a large wooden platform and room for parking. And there’s no questioning why when you see these photos. Millikan’s Overlook is said to be one of the best overlooks in the Fall Creek Falls State Park. Piney Falls can be seen in the distance here slightly to the left. And if you’re a little more adventurous, you can hike down one bluff further by taking the short climb down to the right of the main bluff. It’s a little bit rocky, but still an easy, gradual descent to the overlook. This little hike is roughly only a tenth of a mile. In the meantime I took the short trek out to the Piney Falls overlook and enjoyed the view. I have yet to hike to the falls because of this but will soon now that it’s reopened. Sadly, the trail to the falls directly was closed when I was there. Piney Falls is in the west side of the park. Here are some of the best views the park has to offer and how easy they are to access. Yu will need two cars for that, one at each end.Do you want to see all the views during your visit to the Fall Creek Falls State Park? Then I’ve got you covered. Expect a challenge but if in decent shape the short hike can be done. From there you can go back down to the falls or continue to Jones Gap on the Orange trail. That is a very steep assent and about 15-20 minutes climb up. You can hike up the other side to the top of the falls but it is well behind the drop so you really cannot see over. Follow the trail, crossing several creeks and a steep descent to the falls. Go past the Palmetto Bible Camp entrance, you will see the trail head and you can park.Ħ. It is only 1.7 miles to the falls, but the trail ascents approximately 600 feet during this strenuous hike. This 125 foot waterfall is often overlooked. We followed the purple trail markers which are pretty easy to follow but parts of the trail are washed out so be careful. Bring you camera, water to drink, snacks or lunch. I am in my 60's and a bit overweight but was able to do this pretty easily. You can continue past the falls for 4.7 miles to Jones Gap but it will be difficult. This is a challenging 1.4-1.7 mile hike to the falls each way. The name is cited twice in the King James Version of the Bible. Still others take the name as coming from the Greek name of Sardis glans (Sardis acorn) – Sardis being the capital of Lydia, Asia Minor, from where the fruit had spread. They grow so abundantly there that their presence would have determined the place's name. Kastania is located on one of the relatively few sedimentary or siliceous outcrops. In the Mediterranean climate zone, chestnut trees are rarer in Greece because the chalky soil is not conducive to the tree's growth. The town probably took its name, though, from the trees growing around it. A possible source of the Greek word is the ancient town of Kastanea in Thessaly. The French word in turn derives from Latin Castanea (also the scientific name of the tree), which traces to the Ancient Greek word κάστανον (sweet chestnut).
